ABOUT JACKIE AND THE BLOG
I’m Jackie, the crafty mum, LSA at a local school, and now a Blogger. I am Southampton, England -based DIY project, embroidery and craft blogger. I enjoy making unusual gifts for friends and family. Most of all, I am mum to two amazing Children who support all my projects. I am very lucky to have a very supportive Brother who helps and advises me on anything!! mostly technical. Happily, I live my passion everyday as a mum crafting DIY projects.
I’ve always enjoyed the puzzle of how things are made and the joy of putting them together and seeing the outcome.
Of course, it’s never really that simple, oh boy have I had some disasters but we learn from them. We don’t just wave our magic wands and have what we want pop into perfect existence. We have to work hard to achieve.
I have spend years trying to find my niche. My love of embroidery comes from working in a school and seeing the school uniform and the Logo on the uniform and how, as a parent, you had send away to a company, for the uniform to have the embroidered Logo. I thought I could do that, but like everything it wasn’t that easy. Then I got “Betsy” she has enabled me to become a machine embroiderist, embroidering logos for the schools and companies. Making lots of homemade gifts for friends and family. Even during the Covid’19 lockdown making masks and Scrubs for NHS staff.

During the lockdown I brought my Cricut Explore Air 2 cutting machine, mainly to cut applique for my embroidery, But I soon realised it could do so much more, I became well and truly hooked on all things vinyl, but my real passion has become, what you can make out of paper and card.
Now I want to share everything with YOU, my projects, helping YOU make things you cherish, and helping YOU craft a life you love … this is what fills me up.
I’m honestly just so excited that you’re here right now. I have so much to share, and I love to share. I know I can inspire you to create beautiful things and save money doing it!
I love to create beautiful things, solve storage solutions, re-use and recycle old things, and save money. I can help you make, re-use, re-style, and CREATE something uniquely you that genuinely fits your family and friends! And it will probably cost less than if you’d bought it outright! it WILL take time and lots of energy and like me you will make mistakes but you will learn by them.
Jackie is my name. I am a maker at heart, making everything from crafts, memory teddies, dolls, clothing, designer bags and now paper and card masterpieces, with the help of very talented designers.
